Description

Discover the historical masterpiece "Can Barbier" in the heart of Palma de Mallorca. This unique property, located in the noblest quarter of Palma, the Calatrava district, is a living testimony to the city's history. Its Gothic architecture is a true spectacle and stands as a symbol of Palma's cultural heritage. Originally built in the Middle Ages, the building was refined in the baroque style over the centuries and now comprises three floors, plus the tower rooftop terrace. The property’s renovation, meticulously planned and fully approved, will be carried out by a well-known developer, ensuring the highest quality and attention to detail. Once completed, the villa will be turn-key ready, seamlessly blending historical charm with modern luxury. An elevator, connecting the garage to the living areas barrier-free, is just one of the planned modern additions. Rare features of this house in Palma include the spacious, south-facing, sun-drenched terrace directly on the living and kitchen level with unobstructed views to the south, the charming additional tower rooftop terrace with panoramic views of Palma, the Cathedral, Belver Castle, the Tramuntana Mountains, and even the sea, and a garage suitable for large vehicles. The 10m² indoor pool with a counter-current system along historical city walls from the 8th century gives the property a unique touch. The planned use of the space is flexible and can accommodate between 2 and 5 bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom. The richly decorated, historical wooden beam ceilings and the historical walls speak of times past and lend the house a majestic charm. In addition to its romantic atmosphere, "Can Barbier" offers the opportunity to live independently of urban infrastructure. A private cistern and the option to install solar panels provide independence and the possibility of owning a zero-energy home. After renovation, this property will become a perfect blend of history and modernity, a retreat in the heart of Palma's old town. Show less Show more
